Welcome! I’m Christine Havens (clicking here will take you to my About page), and you’ve found my zine page. I often use “Xine” to spell my name (like using “Xmas” to spell “Christmas”) when I’m feeling playful.
XINE’S ZINES
What is a zine (“zeen”)? They’re little booklets, often made on one sheet and folded. Author/illustrator Austin Kleon inspired me with his own. Some are stapled booklets (The Raven Bookstore in Lawrence, KS, has some great examples).
Playful & Prayerful Volume One is my first zine–a collection of prayers and collects written over the past ten years or so, most with the help of friends, and all with the help of the Holy Spirit. In particular, I want to thank the Rev. Travis Helms, the Rev. Jeff Bohanski, the soon-to-be Rev Scott Madison, the Rev. Hunter Ruffin, the Rev. Christian Hawley, Bonnie Walton, and Will Boesl for their editorial guidance and encouragement.
My hope is that you’ll download this zine and that the prayers might find their way into your spiritual journey, along with some playfulness. Share it with friends, family, strangers. It’s a seed, waiting for your hand to sow it.
